I have used Asus for all but a few of my builds over the last 20 years.

I have only ever had issues with the few that weren't Asus.

Why look elsewhere?

Matt

I have the MSI X99 sli plus and can't fault it. Bought it around a year ago because it was cheap and matched my color scheme (black and blue). Currently running a 5820k at 4.5ghz and never misses a beat :)

I have the Krati X99 and it's rock solid at 4.5 with a i7 5820k

This being said common discussion does rate the Gigabyte SOC as the overclock beast at this price point.

I have the Asus x99PRO usb3.1 and moved away from Gigabyte as had a few issues with an X99 board and some other different intel socket boards over the past few years.
The Asus worked straight away without Issue and even fixed a problem with USB devices and freezing at the bios splash screen which plagued the Gigabyte board.

Out of those you give the ASUS is the best option. Its teh only one offering OC socket so you can clock mems higher and cache higher and also have more stability.

The best option around that price point is Gigabyte X99 OC Champion. Killer in all respects and has full OC socket too.

Thanks- yes in the £200 mark the Champion does look good, especially with all the records you've got with it :D

What about the next rank up around £300- anything you particularly recommend?
