I often watch Youtube vids while i'm having breakfast and I usually end up pausing the vid and coming back to it... and they N E V E R resume properly. They'll play for a further 5 seconds, then freeze. The only way I can resume them is if i refresh the page completely.

I was under the impression that once the video had been buffered, there wouldn't be any issues like this, seeing as the entire video has been downloaded (and this is confirmed by the progress bar at the bottom)... but no!

So i've tried some other extensions (Magic Actions for Youtube / SmartVideo for Youtube) which do things like "smart buffering" - but none have really made any difference!

So, screw all that - i think i'd rather just download the videos completely then play the FLV/MP4 in a separate player altogether!

Can anyone recommend a decent (simple) downloader? All my searches come up with either old extensions which no longer work in the new Youtube, or extensions that do 101 unrelated things!)

Or... if you can suggest a fix for my original issue, that would be lovely :p

Thanks!

Strange sorry about that if it is. :(

Never had a problem with it used it for months. But I never found it on that page. It was from a search a while back. I looked up my extensions in Chrome it linked to there.

Using Microsoft Security Essentials it shows as no problem on that page.

So make of that what you will :) but it was not intentional if it is a virus.

Hmm that's one of the ones I looked at.

The extension's permissions are a little "scary" tbh!

NPAPI plug-ins can do almost anything, in or outside your browser. For example, they could use your webcam or they could read your personal files

:o

I like greasemonkey script YousableTubeFix

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/13333

with combination of this dark theme

http://userstyles.org/styles/26923/youtube-dark-2011-redesign-cosmic-panda-support

not sure if it works in chrome, but it might.

You will need greasemonkey and stylish addons and then those scripts install in to those addons.

I like it because it adds a drop down box and you can pick the quality you want to download, it also adds a download option on search results which is cool.
