Due to my work i'm either in the office behind a VPN or abroad so need a VPN to connect to William Hill etc. but Bet365 seem to block your access when connected to a VPN, you cant even login.

Since my use of a VPN is perfectly legit is there anything I can do?

Thanks

Depends how they are detecting VPN use, what type of VPN / protocol are you using?

I've just tested over a PPTP VPN and it worked fine, the TCP MSS value is lower which could be one way they could detect a VPN but I doubt that is how they are doing it, maybe they just block known VPN provider ranges? If so renting a VPS and tunnelling through that whichever way you know how may help.

I'm using Private Internet Access on my own computers using their software on default settings. No idea what the setup is at work (i dont work in IT). Unfortunately my knowledge of VPN's is extremely limited.

[Edit] Signed up to Purevpn which seems to work ok although for some reason it cant connected in my Windows 10 VM whereas PIA will connect fine. Any ideas why?

[Edit2] In my VM only UDP will work, cant connect via PPTP, TCP, L2TP

Does your IT policy even allow this? I've known people get into a mess from setting up similar stuff - it really didn't end well.

I've not used Windows since 7 but potentially Windows Firewall?

I thought about that but it wasn't the cause. In the end I just went in to the network settings of my VM and changed it from NAT to Bridged and that fixed it. I dont what either of those settings actually mean, i was just guessing :)

Yeah it's fine I only use it for a few mins to do my matched betting, it's when i'm abroad that not being able to use a VPN will be a problem.
