I had a phone call Tuesday from a woman in London with the genetics test results and they came back as Bethany has a mutation of her DNA causing the tuberous sclerosis complex , Mine and Stephs blood tests came back as clear not being carriers .

This eased my mind right away about the new baby on the way .

I like to put a picture up after each post just to show you all how she is doing , sorry its not a good one but captures her cheekyness at the moment :p

Glad to hear the good news. Excuse my ignorance but is something like this going to be cureable or atleast partially cureable? Sorry I havent followed the other threads so asking out of general curiosity.

As much as I would like to think and hope so I dont actually think it ever will be and also as this comes either from a carrier (Beth now is ofcourse) or a mutation there is no way of knowing who will get effect through the mutation

I believe there is no cure but with correct treatment it shouldn't affect her lifespan or quality of life too much.

Lifespan was one of the first things we looked up when we where told the name of it 2 years ago , When I saw the bit in the leaftet titiled lifespan I swear my heart stop for a second , I had to read it to myself first before I could read it to Steph . She should lead a normal length life if there are no complications .

Quality of life - This is my mission in life to make it the BEST she could EVER dream of
