Better fans for a H100i

The best ones I found overall are the Corsair SP120 Performance. They are quieter at full load than the stock (still pretty loud) and perform about the same. Next was the SP120 Quiet, though these go to ~1500rpm so you will loose cooling performance but the full load sound is much more bearable.
You can always limit the maximum rpm of the SP120 Performance (~2200rpm) to ~1500rpm which will give you the same noise/performance and have the extra if you need and can handle the noise.

You're going to be hard pushed to find fans that move more air than the stock ones as these run at ~2700rpm. This is the intrinsic problem of the Corsair CLC's; you need high RPM static pressure fans to get them to perform slightly better than much, much quieter air coolers. With high RPM's comes high noise.

OK so how about the same performance with quieter noise? Can I limit my stock fans to 1500rpm or less or will these still be loud compared to the fans listed above?

The stock will still be loud.

Haven't tried the Vardars although they do tend to be highly recommended but the Phanteks MP 120 reach 1600~ RPM and are blissfully quiet and cool at least as well as H100i stock fans maxed. I'm using them on a H100i in my system.

im with you mate. EK Vardar 2150rpm is the sweet spot!
would agree with that. have 7 of the FF5's (3000 rpm) in my rig and it's overkill. my overclocked 8350 (4.9Ghz) at around 50-55c when gaming and the fans only spin up to around 1600-1700 rpm. have them on another AIO for my 290x and the same rpm's keep it at around the same temp. F3's or F4's really do give the best balance between silent idle temps and performance.
