Which would be the best OC settings for gaming with the Patriot Viper 6GB (PVT36G1600LLK)

Is lower latency better than a higher Mhz speed?
For example this ram can be overclocked to either:

8-8-8-241T 1866Mhz
7-7-7-201T 1600Mhz

What would be better of the two settings:confused:

I'd be tempted to go for lower latency, but there's not much between them. What would happen if you zap them with more volts? Might be able to get higher speed AND lower latency?

Well I actually have zapped more volts and have had it running fine at 7-7-7-201T 1866Mhz. My gaming room is really cold at the moment not so sure if it would be stable when the cold months has passed though.

This can also vary depending on your specific usage. Test it both ways doing what you built the machine to do. A synthetic benchmark may not tell you what you want to know.

I do a lot of things on the PC but most importantly for me is online gaming, just want to squeeze every bit of performance speed out of my system so I dont perform badly during clan matches. Lots of pride at stake;)

I also notice no difference between the two different settings but wanted to know from you experts as Im new to memory OC'in and the whole CAS timings and Mhz speed is confusing me.

For now I'l just run them at 7-7-7-201T 1866Mhz hopefully will be stable throughout.

Thanks for the answers:D
