Better options ??

They fixed that on the board that comes with the bundle a few BIOSes ago.

The one with "P" in its name is an evloution I would have thought of that board and carries the same fixes.

well if that's the case then i might as well save the money and go for the X99P as it should provide me with a decent overclock when combined with the Kuhler , plus give me full bandwidth when i upgrade to an M.2 SSD , im not to bothered about SLI in the future.
plus from what ive seen on the OC Forums the Gigabyte RMA service is great should i ever need to use it.

If you mean the Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI i returned one of these boards after it out right refused to boot with any of my x55 saitek hotas plugged in or my ED head tracker.

I messaged the rep on here and had an open ticket with Gigabyte and installed latest bios with no fix.

Edit: just so you know the bios i had was the F20 which is still the latest one. Tried altering settings in bios as advised by Gigabyte ticket system and still didnt sort it out.

And yet there are many users with no issues since updating their BIOS, did you tell them what hardware you were using and that it was hanging to get into the BIOS? so they could replicate the issue and maybe do a fix.

This is some of the messages to the ticket system-

Please re read what i originally sent you, the bios version i am using is F20 (there is no F21 for my board).

The reason i upgraded the bios from F2 was because to see if there was a fix to the USB Issues.

The devices are -
Saitek X55
An ED Head Tracker
External Usb 3.0 HDD
Mouse Ballista Mk-1
Corsair gaming K95 RGB Keyboard
When i upgraded the bios i had already done what you suggested.
