Better performace for £1000....

Did you manage to get much of a discount out of dell for that?

I looked at the 15x the other day but you could only have a max of a 240m at the time! whats the point in a big heavy beast with a 240m?!?!?

Edit - just priced it up at £1288. do you mind me asking if you used a voucher to reduce the price? I can only find vouchers for studio/xps

I called them up and got the full HD screen for nothing.

There is no vouchers atm you just need to push them into a discount.

You need to select an i7 to get the gtx260m as well does not show up with the i3 and i5
 
I have the C2D version and I get about 3.5 to 4hrs idle/light surfing on low brightness.
Be aware though, this CW like all sony's suffer from battery drain. Even when the laptop is off it will loose approx 7% per night, sony call this a feature. I have owned many laptop and none other than sony have suffered with it
 
I would avoid anything at the moment that has an ATI mobility card in it.

I mean I love ATI but the GDDR3 combined with the duel 64bit ( 128 bit ) bus is crippling the performance of the GPUs.

Even if you get something with the 160m in it youl pay around the same as a 5450 and actuly get better perfromance
 
As far as I can see the E series come with a standard LCD and not an LED screen? Why's that considering they cost £700 and are new machines?!
