Hello guys. I was planing to build a gaming system as soon as i get paid at the end of this month. Actually i have bought already a nice Lian Li case from ocuk
I have been a accommodated mac user for the last two years and i have not followed the PC tech news. But i feel like we are approaching an hardware renovation:
Soon we will have the new 45nn intels, the phenoms, the 790FX chipset, the AM3 socket. Maybe the first geforce 9 series card, the 3870x2 and who knows what else.
Do i have a point or i am just having the usual fear to obsolescence?

Now that the Wii is getting some really good games i think i am alright waiting. What should i do?

or simply get a high spec DDR2 System with a Quad Core...

It makes sense but.
I feel like i am late to the Q6600 party and people says that the perryns are not stable enough yet.
If i get a X38 chipset i am spending around £120-£160 on a mobo with an obsolete socket. If i want to upgrade from my future q6600/q9450 i will probably need another mobo. It is like being a AMD user. I now nothing last forever, but if i am spending twice as much as a cheap P35 at least i want to use the mobo with two cpus.
So, why not to get a cheaper mobo with an good old P35? I am interested on xfiring two 3870 or maybe two 3870x2.The problem is that the P35 performance with crossfire leaves a lot to be desired.

Ahh decisions, decisions xD. That is the great thing of the Wii, it is so obviously obsolete that you stop worrying about graphics and performance and you just have fun :p
