Well ive planned to try and push in a new case this month.
My plans being and aims

- Its going to be powder coated.
- I want it to be BIG, like a corsair 800D
- As much aluminium as possible, not a fan of plastic
- Decent cable management system.
- Although i will be drilling a fair few holes etc.
- Original interior, maybe compartments?

So far ive seen and like.

Silverstone Fortress - I love this case but whats putting me off is the size?
The actual shape of it i really love.

Coolermaster ATCS 840 - This is the case i had my eyes set on, its massive and has all my needs. I can imagine a whole array of ideas and mods i can do with this.

Li Lian v2100 - I love the internals to this but i really hate the front door..
but other than that it would be a very nice case to mod with.

Was going to consider the new corsair 800d but i'd rather get it painted myself tbh, more satisfaction when completed :)

Any suggestions on any other cases? Or can you sguuest one of my list above.

How much components it would have to be able to house? Like number of HDDs and 5.25" devices like optical drives, fan controllers etc.

Are not some "Jesus".
Antec built them to P180 for keeping inside airflow controlled with only couple fans.
Many dual chamber cases have intake in wrong chamber with only minority of heat production and for getting airflow to chamber with most heat production you have to waste three 5.25" bays for intake fan making case effectively lot smaller for amount of devices it can house.

So you don't like normal/angular corners?

Li Lian v2100 - I love the internals to this but i really hate the front door...
V2000 is same wacky upside down ATX without door.
V2010 is current model

Well ive never had a case with compartments, id like to experiment etc.

Ill be housing 2 drives, 3-4+ HDD's and 1 SSD by the end of the year.

No i like both angles and curves, thats just one particular case i do like.
But i do want a big case, its not going to be transported anywere etc.

The TJ07 is a decent case ... I recently got myself one and it's been the easiest case to mod and configure. Possibly would need to drill a few holes in order to tidy up the cables but apart from that it does the job.

Tbh im just totally confused what to get, ideally i want to get it deliverred by sometime next week.

Atm ATCS 840 is still my fave, but some of the silvertones and lian li's are catching my eye.

Note: Both my computers are currently down too, so the only research i can do is at work ><

I've had enough many cases in 16 years to know that any kind dividing to multiple chambers makes insides more obstructed and cramped as there's less continuous space and it also often limits freedom of cabling.

Here are "mug shots" of Lian Li's full towers:

I would consider ATCS 840 as clearly best Coolermaster at the moment and while design isn't acoustically the greatest it's quite decent.

Silverstone TJ09 and TJ10 have HDDs in acoustically lousy and in general cramped marketing BS compartment.

TJ07 if you like the Fortress but want more space imo. Fortress is spacious enough for me TBH - what are you going to stick in it?

Well 3-4 HDDS'
1-2 SSD's.
Fan controller
1 optical drive + blu-ray eventually
Also planning to SLI 2 GT300 series somewaht after release.

Its not about me only buying for what i need, im going to be hopefully putting a lot of effort in this case in terms of paint jobs and mods (build log inc).
I want this to be able to take what i throw at it. And last a long time in terms of campatbility.
Probably overkill but i wanna do it anyway :)

I think i may try find a computer show somewere up north, as cases always look different up close.
