Cheers,

Number 2 is the most dramatic, 1 could maybe do with straightening up? The infrared isn;t bad, I got a filter the other day-a random one off the 'bay, it only give mono images (well red black and white), I assume you have the Hoya R72?

The hoya r72 just gives red/black images...I guess you need to post produce it maybe?

See hear for a thread I made a while back about it :)

I major issue with wide angle lenses is that unless you are careful to keep the lens at exactly 90 degrees to the subject you get distortion.

Some people actually like it but personally i can't stand it and it ruins images

Hi, thanks for the link, but I still can't get the multi tone stuff going with my filter (which is some no-name random thing, all I know is it filters 720-1600nm, what does the R72 do?).
Even with auto levels and reversing channels it remains mono.
Here's a few mono ones I've processed.

Btw I have a D50, is this known to be poor for IR?

Heres a photo straight from the camera

the d50 is known to be a good camera for IR

and the hoya is 720nm AFAIK

hope that helps a bit

/edit/ how could i forget - some good shots matt, shame we didnt have longer really...

some time next week im sure we'll sort sommat out :)

i prefer number 1 tbh, I like the distorted angles

The distortions in the first image can be fixed but I feel it needn't have be so wide and framing it a little higher would have avoided cutting the top spire.

aye, in alittle rush with parking, :(, and they don't let you in the ground around the minster which is strange, but as i said, more time, less rush next time and you never know :)

Thanks all :)
