Why are there 16 gazillion graphics cards these days

Having just layed down the cash to upgrade my 6 year old PC to an Asus P5QL-E, Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz & Kingtson 4gb of ram I realised my GFX card is AGP, doh :D

I bought the upgrade to help with Lightroom & CS4, aside from this I surf the net and no real gaming.

What's a good entry level Gfx card to look at, I don't want total bottom of the line but don't need a full on SLI with 2Gb of ram etc, I do need DVI (To monitor) and VGA (To Plasma) though, Cheers ;)

Certainly no need to go for anything more than a 9500GT or 4670 IMO. That Sapphire would be a good bet, but bear in mind the cooler is quite large and the case airflow will need to be good.

My case is an old 'Silent PC' one, plenty of airflow acros the board in bottom front and out the back up just below the PSU with nothing really obstructing it. I like the idea of less fans and less noise :)

Aslong as you have the space that passive 4670 is a decent card - I'm tempted to put one in my media PC as nVidia don't have any decent cards with native HDMI except some 295GTX models and I think they would be a little overkill for a media PC :D

I went for the Sapphire 'Passive' 4670 in the end, bit overkill but I like the vga, hdmi & DVI out option along with reduced sound. I don't have a HPTC now but in years down the line when I replace it I can reuse it :)
