I nearly fell out of my chair when i saw this LOL , man for like 3 months i was campaigning for them to remove it now a year later they do

A new patch (1.49) for the English version of Beyond Divinity is available. It removes the Starforce protection, fixing a number of problems players have been reporting including Windows Vista compatibility. Click here to download it.

It took them long enough, really does annoy me, install game, start game, reboot, start game again another reboot.

Starforce, just say no :D

In any game that uses startforce and doesn't have a patch for it (for removing) i just use a crack even though I bought the game, there's no stupid protection telling me to reboot my pc, i hate rebooting, also whines about deamontools if its on, any game that removes it is a step in the good direction, shame you have to use warez or illegal .exe's to be able to game normally while continueing your other stuff (in this case keeping deamon/alcohol120%/isomount running) and without rebooting.

Thats the problem there never was a NOCD for this game only the polish version, it was probably one of the only SF games that never had a nocd. Plus the fact the amount of patchs this game had.

But now you can install the retail - patch and play without starforce :D

WARNING... just read on another forum that the game still installs starforce even if you havent loaded the main exe . This person seems to suggest that after install when it asks you to reboot your computer , dont click ok but ctrl+alt+del and kill the DRIVERINIT or something service relating to starforce. This should stop starforce from being installed on reboot , if you are worried run the starforce removal file after doing the above.

Still that is so f--ing lame

Does that mean you never have to install Starforce in the first place? I have CMR2005 and Xpand Rally sitting here (the latter I've never played!), but I can't play them as the StarForce drivers won't work on x64 :( and if they did I wouldn't install them anyway!
