bf 2142 help

Hi all,

Got the game for xmas and had 2 games and got my first promotion. Games better when you get a decent squad.

Anyway, i used to use a few sites for BF2 for info on when you get upgrades, what all the medals/ ribbons etc where for and how to get them and for map tips.

Anyone got any good sites for BF2142?

EDIT: Oh, and any tips for which unlocks to do first?

be assault...heal people..drop medi packs about, get the defibrillator and revive loads of people, and dont be afraid of being the commander...easy lol. Im a Sargent silver.

well in total ive played 5 games, already got a silver star and several ribbons etc. Promoted twice and unlocked a few items for my assault character.

I am a big BF2 fan and wasnt sure whether id like this, but it is good once you get used to all the differences.

Unlock recon stuff - RDX Demopack is the best thing in the game, it gets anoying but if u get good with it and team attack is off you can kill 40+ in a round

Unlock the APM and use them in defense of ** titans and ull soon get ** gold bagde for that within a week, xtra 1000 points

I'm addicted to BF2 at the mo with just under 14,000 points, is it worth buying BF2142? I've heard its the same but with futuristic weapons?

totally different games, the only similarity is they have guns and vehicles and both are great fun.

Same engine, but heavily re-vamped gameplay.
The transition between BF2 and BF2142 takes a while, but there does come a point when it all 'clicks' and all of a sudden you see that it's a better game than BF2 (my opinion obviously). What takes a bit of getting used to is the scoring system, one point for a kill seems stingy at first, but then you soon realise that it's all part of the game's strategy to promote teamwork. If you squad up and work together properly there's some serious points to be made!
Also the armour seems to be too powerful at first, but you get used to that too and eventually become adept at aiming for the head.
Great game, now I've gotten all the unlocks I need I'm sitting back and just enjoying the game, still a fair few badges to earn and tons of ribbons, but a lot of those will come naturally.
Fact is I'm earning a shedload more points per round now that I'm not 'trying' for anything, for me the major points-fest is titan mode with Engi to start off, then changing to assault once the enemy titan shield is down and pwning the titan roof.

im the same, loved BF2 and was quite good.

BF2142 is worth getting, finding a decent server is difficult however. It seems everytime i log in im on a really poor team getting out asses handed to us because no one makes squads and communicates.

ive been playing 2 days and im now a Lance Corporal silver. Im yet to get a gold star however as it seems i keep getting beaten by 1 or 2 points

Cracking game, i was suprised tbh. It takes a while to get into it, learn the new ways, weapons and vehicles etc but its worth it.

the first few times i "played" (read on lol) BF2142 i hated it becasue it wouldnt even load (damn corrupted Windows XP due to overclock but a quick format and reinstall of XP did the trick), the next time i couldnt even get a list of servers because the whole layout/thing was too confusing. then i uninstalled it and had thoughts about selling it.

installed it again the next day and battled my way through the menus, (OMG the whole GUI/layout is carp IMHO) got a list of servers up and started to play with ONE person in my team/squad. and died about a millions times, i must have joind the elite server or something. still not too fond of the game but i am yet to play it again. meh i got it for xmas so im not that good at it, im sure if i give it another go ill be hooked!

lol this game is awesome IMO

i only played the demo, but i came from the aged df bhd.

so i equipped sniper rifle, game loaded, took 10 mins to figure out how to spawn, woah!!! nice

30 players on the map but i ran around lonely :confused:

some walking tank squished me lolol
