BF 2142 wont load

i run the shortcut on the desktop for 2142, the battlefiled screen appears dvd starts to spin, battlefield screen goes away and nothing? ive updated to v1.10 and still no difference, any help please?

has it worked before or is this the first time you've tried to run it ?

updated gfx, direct x and soundcard drivers ? changed any settings or installed any new software or apps lately ?
