I was just playing the game, and was monitoring my cpu temps with stock cooler, when i noticed the game is not fully using all the cores, at most i saw all the four cores being used at 50 percent. so we have another 2 cores worth of power free..
take a look at this.

Erm... what exactly are you trying to get at here? All i can really pick up from this is an epeen thread about how good your quad core is.

he wants to know if its normel, should the game be using say 90% on four cores (not 2) and i think he is wondering if the game is fully utilizing the available cores and getting the most form them, crank the aa up mate, make sure your running at your full res and make sure everything in the settings is on high, what card do you have?
other than that tyhe game will spread the load over your cpus cores, only way to use more horsepower is to ask for more form the cpu, this is all in game setings if its all on high then the cpu is dealing with the load fine

Well yes... that was kinda my point. He hasn't bothered to say what the specs are and what he was running the game at. You'd think both of those would be fairly critical to include in this sort of thing.

It means your CPU is more than ample to run this game and is only being stressed to 50% of its capability, the game simply doesn't have anything else it needs the CPU to do that isn't already being done.

If it was at 100% i'd be more worried as that's when things are at the limit and the CPU is struggling to keep up.

i wasnt getting my "e-peen" out thankyou very much, i was actually curious and trying to educate myself on how a computer works.

So it is normal then? it would be interesting to see other users.

as someone aske my graphics card is a 5850, but i thought when you play a pc game it automatically uses 100 percent of your hardware to get highest frames possible?

i was at 1680x900 and it was 2xaa 2xaf.

Thanks to the people trying to reply respectfully.

Cpu and gpu will contribute different amounts of horsepower, cpus can only contribute so much to a game, this is the amount it will demand form the cpu and if the cpu cant deliver then yes the load will be 100%, 100% of the time, as it stands your cpu can manage the task asked of it with room to spare so thats what it has, power to spare.

yeah because having a quad core is something unique these days  oh wait you are just trolling

OP its a beta, its only using 50% of each gpu of my graphics card as well. should be fixed in the full game with better fps as a result

It was like 2 yrs ago before I upgraded my pc to a E8400 and 8gb of mem, Ppl were banging on that I should go quad. 2 yrs later my [email protected] is still running everything I throw at it, and I do believe It will be at least another yr before my cpu starts letting me down

I can see quad very handy for encoding and all that stuff, but a good core 2 duo cpu can easily still keep up with a quad cpu gaming wise.
