BF1 Download and Install W11

Weirdest thing happened, twice, when trying to download and install BF1 through Origin. Loaded Origin, clicked download on BF1, got quite far and then gave me this error, Origin is not able to download Battlefield™ 1 to G:\Origin\Battlefield 1\Data\Win32\installation\mp_ravines_install\cas_01.cas_DiP_STAGED. Thought nothing off it until I tried to delete the files on the drive and Windows could no longer detect the drive! Panicked for a few seconds, turned PC off, unplugged SATA cable and put it into new slot on motherboard, booted up and can see drive again. Tried again with exact same result. Couple results suggest location but I've played this before. Anyone have this or similar?

I only use Origin for BFV, 2042 and F1 22 so unsure but I'll give that a go. However the strange issue is that Windows just stopped detecting the drive. Luckily it's only a games drive but still shouldn't happen.

Using EA play I managed to download and install without issue. I just don't understand the issue with drive not being detected after the error.

Try installing on another drive. If Windows isn't detecting the drive then it's more than likely a faulty drive

It might be worth switching the SATA cable too in case that's the cause. I've heard it happen.

Be sure to backup any game data/saves that aren't in the cloud.

Origin is end of life. EA made me delete it for EA app which then gave me a load of problems

Mate that's exactly what happened. I only used it for BFV and I was made to update to the EA app. It then had problems proving I owned the copy and I had to delete the demo from account (which wasn't straight forward) to get it to work again. Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen.

EA app - displayname field missing from registry - please help

Origin forced me to upgrade to the EA app. And now everytime i open it i get a pop up saying displayname field missing from registry blah blah I log in with my details but it doesn't go away. I just want to play BFV/1. Anyone got any idea how to get rid of it?
