Hi everyone

I would like to upgrade my motherboard and cpu. I currently have i5 3570k and some gigabyte d3h can't remember.

I keep on having sound card problems where it constantly laggy out and makes playing games unbearable.

I have tried changing the sound card but that's not the problem. I have updated the motherboard but it only goes up to 2015. I think it's time to change.

I have a budget of 400 max. Can you guys possible help me out. I would like to buy this before the weekend.

If possible to get it cheaper that would be great, I have a full case tower, and also a 970 graphics card.

Thats odd as your spec should run BF1 no problem.

Have you tried the onboard sound again (maybe new drivers and afresh Windows install)?

As above - unless you're trying to play on ULTRA - sounds like a driver issue.

Have you clocked your CPU and how much memory do you have?

Trust me guys I have tried getting the latest update on my motherboard. I changed soundcards from a £25 to £120 card, I have tried a few other things, different settings. Nothing works. My cpu is at 3.5 hertz. I'm not too sure as I work away from home.

My memory is 8 gb at 1866

Do you have a 64bit version of windows?

As you can get 16GB of RAM and a nice Ryzen CPU (quad core but has HT so = 8threads like a i7 7700k)+board

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £435.02
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Added this cooler to keep the temps+noise under control and if you fancy overclocking then you can safely do so.

Will the motherboard be able to have enough slots for WiFi and the soundcard to fit on? Sorry I'm sending this from mobile.

I think I do have 64bit windows 10

The board has PCI-E slots, so if you have older PCI cards (not the same as PCI-E) then they wont work.

Is it worth the jump for the ryzen 1600x?
It's not worth getting the X versionbut if you were to drop the cooler for now (the wraith stock is very good) and get the 1600 it would cost £15 more.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £451.47
(includes shipping: £10.50)

But stulid's is a solid build closer to your budget - and you could remove the cooler and be closer still.

In your opinion is it worth the extra money for specifically gaming?

No.

The 1500X has 8threads, same as an i7 and thats good for gaming.

The 1500X is clocked faster than the 1600 non X and that will be better than the extra cores.

IS there a thread plec doesnt reply to? :p

Heh - i had the 1600 in my basket at the start of the thread but held off as you posted just before and i liked your build.

But must admit - i like the 1600 for the money.

Did you see my footnote? :p
