BF1942 - widescreen

I just bought the BF1942 anthology on eBay (and people still play it :O) and I'm trying to get it running in widescreen. The widescreen fix doesn't seem to work with the final patch 1.61b. Does anyone know if there's a way?

Thanks but the problem is I don't have a /custom/ folder and I've tried playing the game but it doesn't make one.
