BF2 1.2 crash to desktop?

Hmm, it seems this patch has somehow screwed me, giving me random CTDs that I never had before. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Maybe its a Nvidia only problem? Any ATI guys crashing?

Did you install the official one? I think that most the early leaked patches turned out to be exactly the same patch anyway, but there were loads flying about all different sizes so maybe try downloading another one just to make sure.

Actually im having the exact opposite to your prob, I cant seem to exit to desktop using ctrl alt delete, bit annoying as the only way out is to quit then load up and log in again

Turtle3, try opening a broswer screen before you load BF2 then ALT+TAB out and see if that helps.

Lanz, check the other thread about the patch, i started a download that was going to take about 10 hours, checked the thread and got a link that took about 5 mins!

Thanks mate, tried it but still no joy, I get a mixed screen as if its trying to switch but not quite making it, when I tried I can still see all bf2 option screen top and bottom with the middle of the screen showing the background colour of the browser screen that I opened behind the game, I can now see the task manager box but no text visible...

i got a CTD once when i was picking a server, thats the only time its happened tho. :confused:

The CTD is a known bug. It should be fixed in 1.21.
