guys.....for BF2 and 2142 i basically change the desktop shotcut to include details of the widescreen resoloution I use so that I can play the game in a widescreen resolution.

i.e.

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142Launcher.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

When I start the game through x-fire...x-fire looks for and activates the .exe file in the game folder in oprogram files...hence missing the instruction to boot into widescreen resolution. As the game has no widescreen options in the video options...how do i get it to boot into widescreen via launching a game from x-fire????

Thanks if you know how!

Battlefield isnt widescreen, the only thing you can change is the aspect ratio/resolution to be native to your monitor, it will still be in fullscreeen FOV though. also your shortcut is incorrect for "widescreen", it should be more like:

"Battlfield executable path" +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

i said play the game in a 'widescreen resolution'. I know you dont get the FOV of widescreen...but it still plays in a widescreen resolution...as opposed to looking squashed.

I got the fix from here like most others....

changing it 'widescreen' instead of fullscreen doesnt make any difference..apart from the fact it would boot into game half of the time.

cool..tried that and it seems to work....putting the '+szx 1680 +szy 1050' into the advanced option.

Trying 2142..when you select a server and join via x-fire, it loads to the 2142 logon screen and when you logon it just sits at the game home screen...and doesnt join the server????

Anyone use x-fire to play BF 2142 and has this working??
