BF2 and Vista Ultimate 64bit

Hi, I used to play BF2 ages ago on Windows XP, I got really poor fps which effected my game, so i upgraded spent a whack on pc, and installed vista ultimate 64bit.

The install of bf2 itself went relatively smooth however, it wont update. I have installed and uninstalled over and over again. I have installed to program files and program files (x86). I run game and patch in Windows SP2 compatibility mode and as an administrator. But when the patch is finished installing and I load game it just hasn't patched and i cant connect to game servers that run the new patch.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Get a hold of the patches and apply manually? It does work on ultimate 64, have it running myself. From memory though, I think I had the patches on DVD so I wouldn't have to download them when I moved to Vista, so I never tried to have it update itself.
