Punkbuster kicks me for inadequate o/s privileges. Its set up to run in windows xp sp2 compatibility mode.

I've tried run it as administrator, but that just crashs on the login screen.

So I've set my user full access right, so it now runs with what should be the same as administrator. But still the same problem.

Anyone now a work around?

Don't have the solution I'm afraid. But can I ask why you'd want to make BF2 run in Vista right now given the known performance hit?

On pre RC1 builds after you'd enabled admin rights it was fine and ran very well. However I've been unable to get past the login since RC1.

It was working just as well as Xp, 60 fps.

you have to start it from the cd, not the Bf2 shortcut, no idea why, but that solves the login problem..

As for why, it runs fine in single player, vista is awesome and have everything I need apart from BF2 :(. So in other words I wont to move 100% to vista. Theres only 2 things I'm missing peerguardian and a Iso drive emulator both of which new updates are being released shortly.

Ah i'll give that a go when I get home...

As for you, the punk buster os privileges issue is caused by the admin rights. It was ok after you select run as admin. Of course if you need to now run it from the cd and not the shortcut this might be the prob.

I'll see what happens when I get in 10:30ish...

right work around :)

Got ot

control panel > user account > turn user account control on/off

and turn it off.

Then fire BF2 up from the cd, not shortcut and it works.

It's a bit laggy, but I think thats due to no drivers for geforce card.

Hmm running it from the cd made no difference.
So since I've been having issues view a lot of websites in vista. I disconnected my router and connected directly. BF2 is now fine, and the sites also. Very odd problem, don't see why vista doesn't like the router. And bf2 and these sites did work in previous builds.

Are you not running the 96.33's?

nope can't get the darn thing installed.

96.33_forceware_winvista_x64_international

First it comes up with a x86 unistall incompatible version.

Then it says the O/s isn't x64..

Its's x64 vista and x64 forceware so whats *** problem?
