BF2 and your comp specs

have no problems running it 30+fps on 1024*768 100% view dist and 2x aa* as it performs better with it on than off .. yes i get slow down in arty and i avoid 64 player maps , but until the new rig is built it does me

I'm playing on an e6400 OC to 3.2Ghz, 1Gb of 800mhz ram and an x1900xt. I run it at 1280x1024 and everythin on max apart from AA on 4 and textures on medium. I think that must be because i've only got one Gb of RAM, but it still makes me wonder why it struggles :s
Another gig of ram is all you need for BF2. I had an amd 3000+, x800 bravo and 2 gig of cheap ram and I ran it maxed out at 1024x768. It ran perfectly, but i've yet to see how much more perfect it will be with my new 8800gts.
Having 2 gig of ram also lets you alt+tab out of it without killing your computer, and you can do stuff as soon as you close BF2 rather than waiting 15 minutes for the computer to sort itself out.
What are the specs for BF2142 btw, basically the same as BF2?
