bf2 at 1680x1050

ive tried putting this after target

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

however when i run bf2 it displays the logo, the screen goes black as usual and it crashes to desktop.

any ideas ?

What's that about? BF doesn't accomodate for widescreen.

On topic, it only crashes when you force that resolution then?

Sorry for the daft question, but where abouts to you type that? i go to the location and it just starts bf2?
 
right click the desktop icon>properties>target its in there.

if you get CTD remove the profiles folder from my documents>Battlefield 2>Profiles. and its not the biggest waste of £260 because it works fine.

you just have to retreive your account and remap your keys, which wont be a problem unless you use arrow keys like me :p
 
A lot of BF2 forums have that info. In some cases (not sure which code), it only stretches it and it looks rubbish. I haven't actually seen an image of it actually widescreen. I am happy with it running with 2 lines either side of my monitor at the moment.

Thanks to you for that last paragraph!

Is there a way i can import the old profiles i saved now i have it working ?

EA wont let me retrieve them im giving the right password and username and it says its wrong :(
 
yep you can. just import the one account/file which you want to use, its not too hard.

And make sure you use the account name to retrieve the account, the email one never works for me.

Never managed to get BF2 working in widescreen, no matter what method I used it always ran at a non native resolution.
 
well it looks wrong ran in 1280x1024 the menu is more so stretched and thinner.

but when ran in widescreen it looks better..and correct.

As to why you can't get it working thats a new one on me, as it works for loads of other players.. :confused:

Strange comment considering the screen itself has nothing to do with it.

Have you followed the totalbf2 link? Have you cleared all the cache folders?
Have you double checked the exact line of text (e.g. spaces in right places)?
