BF2 Crashing to Desktop...

Hey all,

I know what you are all thinking, not another BF2 crashing topic

I have just recently upgraded to Vista 64 after playing BF2 perfectly fine on Windows XP Pro SP2 for years. Now I am running exactly the same setup and now the game randomly continues to crash to desktop with no error message every time I play. It could happen 5mins in or 30mins but I never get over an hours worth of gameplay before this occurs.

I have read about issues with Vista 64 and the X-Fi cards which is what I am running, anyone else found this to be a problem and by any chance came across a fix?

Also please note I have upgraded Vista to SP1 if that makes any different, I dont know.

Try this Vista Hotfix and make sure you patch tp 1.41

I have tried that but just get a message saying the update does not apply to my system. I presume the fix was implemented into SP1

Try deleting the BF2 folder in My Documents.

Run as administrator - if you're arent already that will be your problem

I have disabled the UAC in Vista so I dont have to run as admin do i?

Try deleting the BF2 folder in My Documents.

Already tried this.
