BF2 dilema ,, Please help

Chaps , after many formats with using Vista 64 I have never had this problem .

Formatted today installed all MS updates and got all hunky sory , new components

Asus P5K Black Pearl
4gb of Corsair Dominator
E8400
Ati 4850

Now after i had Vista ll sorted i decided to install my beloved BF2 , all goes well and then i patch it to 1.41 , gett my settings right and sit down for an eveining of BF2 fragging .

When i load the map and it it verifies clinet data i think get kicked off the server for " Not having the right version of BF2 " I have updated punkbuster using easy balance but I am still getting the same message .

I eveen uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same message , I have formatted Visat at least 5 times sine i have had it and never had this isssues before , could it be my new components ?

maybe one of the patches didn't install properly ?

make sure you do the patches in order, perhaps you missed something, best to start deleting/unistalling bf2/its folders and start again - not a format.

take a look at this if you forgot and install in that order exactly and you should be fine.

also check about pb for 64 bit operating systems - though im not entirely sure.

right, remember, i tend to restart after installing each patch and after doing all of them, do a defrag just in case.

then get playing !

this one can be sorted, make sure u run the game as administrator.
