whats the min gfx card needed to run bf2 on medium settings ?

thinking of selling my 8800 gtx when i get it as i need money for other things....

7600GT runs BF2 with everything completely Maxed at playable FPS (27+)... May i ask why you are selling that beast of a card?

The cheapest card that'll play medium settings at a half decent resolution is probably a 7600gs/7300gt, but as has been said the 7600gt is a lot better and isn't much more!

i bought it brand new cheaper than a 640 gts, so i could if i wanted to, sell it on and make a few quid.

im still tempted by 2900xt and dont want to find my gtx is slow compared to it when ati sort their drivers out...

8600GT and OC a fair bit? Would probably run it maxed out with some "decent frames".

You could pick up a 7800GTX or a 7900GT 2nd hand for about £90-100.

My 7800GTX runs BF2 on full at 1680*1050 in XP (haven't tried Vista yet though)

My X1800XT plays that game with all the eye candy on my 24" dell no problem, I think AA may only be at x2 but the res is way up. They go for around £80...

Hi,

My 6600GT (256MB variant) runs BF2 at max settings at 1024x768 resolution and is very playable, also, the card I've got is passively cooled so you won't notice it being there (if you can find the same model as me)
Don't know about the availability of these old beasts though :confused:

Anyway, you'll only need something of 6600GT/6800GT standards to play BF2 at 1024x768 at full settings.

Make sure you have super cooling though, as you dont want it to overheat with all this action going on.

how about an old x850xt pe? that would run it very nicely, similar to a 7600gt.

How much would you say is "playable"? What sort of settings would I be able to get with 50FPS+?
