BF2 in "Unmodified Content" shocker. Help!!

Aaarrrrrgh! I hate this bloody game! Ever since installing the Coop_4.0 single player mod I can't play online in BF2! The game seems to connect to a server, load all the graphics/geometries etc and then !blam! returns straight to the menu screen saying:

"this server only allows unmodified content"

I've deleted the Coop_4.0 mod but no joy. I've uninstalled Special Forces and BF2, done a complete reinstall, patched to 1.12 and updated Punkbuster but no joy. I've checked the advice in this thread but still no joy! Help, what do I do next?

did you try deleting any registry entries when u were uninstalling, worth a shot maybe?

I get this at least once a day ,its a clean install with no mods

Re-patch. I had this a few times after I installed the game, installed SF and didn't re-install the patch.

EA sucks my ****s.

try checking the ' same version or same mor ' or something option in the serverfilter

Also delete the folder it leaves in my documents after the uninstall.

Here's what you do. You install BF2. You install SF. Along the way it patches BF2/SF. Then apply the 1.12 patch.

I bet you installed BF2, patched to 1.12, and then installed SF. Patch to 1.12 again and you're good to go.

If that doesn't work, then I have no idea.

sf patches to 1.12 for u .... but its rubbish at doin this... as kebab said install bf2, install sf, patch the game

this worked for me (couldn't play sf2 online, or iwa jima in bf2)

I dont have SF ,so the problem is not just what order youve patched

BF2>1.12 patch

I still get this error at random times
