BF2 issues

I've been having issues with BF2, where I connect to a server and then shortly afterwards it disconencts me and does that pop up that basicaly says that there is no reason for it.

I started getting this about a month ago on XP, and not on Vista, so I only played on Vista. I was also having other issues with my pc on Vista, so didn't much like using it. It's completely random, no reason that I can see for it.

I have now done a full reinstall of XP (removed Vista completely), have the latest drivers for everthing, installed BF2 and fully updated it (including the PB manual update), and it's STILL happening.

Anybody have any ideas as to what might help me?

The only thing I can think to do is get like 6month old ATi drivers and see if it's a driver issue...but it shouldn't be else there would be loads of posts everywhere from ATI owners.

Try disabling ingame VOIP. I used to get disconnects all the time before I turned that off. Don't know why tho :\

As random and silly that sounds, I shall try it. I never use VOIP, only use TS, so not losing out on that.

Has this worked as everyone gets this problem, its very irritating when your about to knife a sniper then "you have been dissconected" grrrr...

In all honesty, I haven't tried it yet, been busy breaking my PC (unintentionally). Got to do another fresh install today, as I have many errors on startup, once done I can check BF2.

I hope you fix it but it may not actually be a problem you can fix. Just recently the old "connection loss" error has returned to 3 people I know as well as me and yesterday a m8 got disconnected with a PB missing Heartbeat error.

It might be worth trying to update PB but from the main bf2 thread this hasn't exactly made it better.

ive been getting this same problem recently aswell, connecting through ingame browser or xfire. i get connection to server lost, error message. also tried manually updating punk buster but still no joy
