Just bought a 40"LCD and use this as my monitor,i have the res via HDMI at 1440x900 but my old settings were 1024x768 in BF2 [i think] Will this cause a issue when i launch BF?

Many thanks

The game res will be the same as you originally had it. Only the windows desktop resolution will be different as you only changed that I assume?

You will need to launch the game and go into the options to change the res while in the game.

only problem is that BF2 doesnt have an in game widescreen option

you need to change the properties of the shortcut to the game. And add in fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

eg

Target C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 would set the resolution to 1680 x 1050

for a full HD TV, you'd set it to 1920 x 1080

ok will try that as when i changed the res in the control panel it did nothing.

1440x900 is an odd resolution for an HDTV - they're typically 1366x768 (closest PC resolution 1360x768) or 1920x1080.

Which model TV do you have?

LE40N87BDX 40" 1080P LCD and Sony STR DB940 powereing Mission Front,centre,rears with a active Yamaha Sub :)

The TV is a full-HD, 1920x1080 - so for the best picture quality, set it to that resolution for *everything* where possible.

Otherwise, a 16:9 ratio will do, depending how good the internal scaler unit is.

Run the game at 1920x1080 and make sure the sound is as LOUD as it'll go without disturbing those who live 4 blocks away and fire some juicy 'nades and feel the realism!!
