BF2 or BF2 DELUXE

If you know someone who already plays with SF then no - get them to play on your account for an hour or so so you get the extra unlockable guns.

If you don't know anyone, then yes... again, just so you can get the unlocks.

SF is pretty poor as an add on. There a few good maps, but you'll probably end up playing vanilla BF a heck of a lot more. It is only worth it for the extra guns.
 
ignore Hellsmk2 comments tbh, Warlord on its own beats all vanilla BF2 maps * and with Ghost town thrown in you have to buy the deluxe version which can be had for £20 in most places

also theres no base raping planes in bf2:sf addon, but there are copters :)

I'd agree with Hellsmk2 really, the standard BF2 maps are far better than the SF maps. The only thing I actually use from SF are the weapons.

I suppose you might as well get it for the unlocks, but it's a pretty poor expansion in my opinion.
 
I quite like Special Forces, the night maps throw up a different style of fighting. a lot harder to see where youre being shot from! Plus teamworks a lot more apparent as people flying solo tend to get picked off in the dark.

Most of my knife kills have come on SF too :D

Though I must agree that most of the BF2 maps are better than SF maps. If you want more variation in where you fight and who you fight for, get SF. If you want to just shoot people on Karkand 24/7, get BF2 :p

Didnt realise there were extra weapons in ef. Is it better than the L96?
 
i dont really play as a sniper much but when i have all they sniper rifles seem to be as equally bad as eachother, none seem accurate to me n i cant seem to hit a thing with them :p
 
Get deluxe, its only £20 on a major game shops Website.
Its nice to play some SF when you get bord of normal BF2 maps.
 
SF is crap IMO. I bought it and haven't played it that much. You can get FFOLKES Unlock mod which allows you to use SF weapons and equipment on BF2 maps. It's a free mod. Just google it.

Seriously, unless you don't spend all your time playing Wake island or Karkand im sure you will like SF.
