Yeah i guess, my only fear is that i will be far behind the skill curve.... about 3 years behind.... I might pick it up in town tomorrow if i get chance, any advice you guys can give to a BF n00b?
M,
As long as you go into BF2 with the right attitude you will be fine. Squad play is compulsory or death is instant.
My advice is go Medic & join a squad, concentrate on dropping meddy packs & reviving your team mates but do Not revive them to be shot again.
The way to play medic is to let your squad take on the enemy & then if your squad goes down the enemy will be wounded, You pop forward waste the enemy, Revive your Squad, Rinse & repeat, You = Hero
For the other classes join a Squad that has 2 Medics already & do the job of Assault/Aggressor.
On Vehicle maps learn the vehicles on EMPTY servers, Nowt will **** a team off more than if you waste the vehicles while the other team gets the advantage.
Once you feel comfortable in a vehicle then use a Half full server with Lots of spare vehicles etc Gradually build up to a Full on 64 man battle.
Accuracy is what counts in BF2, The game allows you to get a shot off & if that shot is accurate You win, Simple as that. I've lost count of how many times I have been ambushed by a sprayer only to turn around & drop him in 3 shots, Do Not spray, Aim & burst fire then you win
