BF2 patch question

I've just bought BF2, do i have to download every patch since the release or just the lastest one (1.22) to bring it upto date?

I think mine is the 1.0.2442.0 version.

Thanks, one more question when i finish a map online were it shows medals and best medic,etc no names appeal its just blank or N/A will this patch fix this?

I think thats my problem i've not been playing on a ranked server, how do u know which is ranked?

I used to play the demo when first came out but today is the first time playing the full version just 2 hours online game play so far...
