BF2 Problem. Can see through the terrain/ground

I cant play BF2 anymore because i can see through terrain. For example at wake island, if i stood on one side of a hill and the enemy was on the other i will beable to see him...

Its just started doing this since i got my monitor. Im trying to play at 1920x1080 but its not working. It DID work for a while. Iv put all my setting to low and iv put my lowest resolution 800x600. Its still giving me the problem. Iv restarted the game each time after i changed a setting.


any ideas?
 
Go into your My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache directory and delete everything you find in here (or move them somewhere else if you're scared :p ).

This will cause the game to do it's zzzzzz graphics optimisation next time you load a map afterwhich your problem will be solved.

Yay for simplicity.
 
99x out of 100 its the drivers not the cache thats the problem I have to use an older version of the Ati drivers or i get this problem with Win7
 
I dont wanna go down to the 9.10 ati drivers :( rfactor lags like hell during the menus with that driver and i play rfactor a lot.
 
Disable visual themes and desktop composition on windows 7 and then run it as administrator. If that doesn't work then just disable the audio driver - that worked for me and my mate who had a 5770

solution 2: ignore it and get used to it
solution 3: use it as an undetectable advantage?

i have bf bc2
and i want to play fairly. When i win playing the rules i feel good. When i loose to a cheater i feel excellent :)
 
I have no AA on :( iv put all settings to lowest. still no good

Apologies for bumping an ancient thread, but I'm having exactly the same problem, did you every manage to fix it anyone? I also have a 5770 (which is knackered, but I don't think that's the problem) and 7 x64, and have tried everything suggested in here and haven't been able to fix it.

I've been playing Battlefield free2play recently, which has been so rubbish that it's given me the bug to play BF2 proper.

Also, I only found this thread through google, the search here for "Battlefield 2 see through" helpfully decided that the words "see, through" were too short and too common to search for :rolleyes:.
