I searched but couldn't find a problem the problem I'm getting.

Whenever I play BF2 it all runs fine and smooth. About 15 minutes into the game at what seems to be a totally random point the game just closes. No error, no problem starting it back up, it just closes. Anyone got any ideas what could be causing it?

Well if it loads then it's not the refresh rate problem that lots have had. The only other problems I've heard about or had myself with BF2 quitting ramdomly are associated with dual-core CPUs.

Dunno in other words.

slightly off topic but refresh lock for ati cards wont work with my new 1800 card, how can i set 800x600 to 60hz? its at 100 at the moment

Had this with textures set to high (only got 1gig ram). Setting to medium resolved this.

Basically I think my memory isn't 100% stable and when it gets full up this gets found out.

V1.20 has alledgedly introduced a new CTD bug in BF2.

I've had 3 CTD since v1.20 was released, prior to that I've only ever had 1 CTD in over 150hrs of play.

Fingers crossed hotfix 1.21 sorts it out.

Been lurking around the board for a while and finally decided to register, so first things first, hello! :)

I've been getting this as well recently and I'm running bf2 on a top-end system. It seems to occur intermittently (at least once a day) but I'd say 90% of the time it happens when I'm running xfire and/or Teamspeak.

It'll either randomly crash to desktop without warning, or display the "there is a problem with your connection" warning and then crash to desktop, or finally (and most annoyingly) I get the bsod.

So really, I'm at a loss as to why this happening and how to fix it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I noticed on another board that a few folk have suggested moving the Battlefield 2 folder from your My Documents folder to the desktop. This seems to reset a few things and requires the game to re-optimize the graphics. Tried this and it seems to have reduced the number of crashes to desktop
