BF2 settings

I recently got BF2 again, its been a good 6 months since i last played it and wondering what settings i should expect to play on, currently running it at 1024x768 all high apart from shadows i belive, 4xaa and 8af.

I find its rather choppy tbh, on a 3.4 gig P4@ 3.5, 1 gig ddr2 ram and a x1900xt, now i can gues everyone will say get 2 gig ram, but is this really going to make the difference in my putting it upto say 1280x1024/1600x1200

Dunno how it will perform when you put it up to those resolutions, but jumpy/choppy play will definitely be improved with another stick of 1gb RAM.

Having textures on high needs like 1.75GB (2GB to be sure) RAM or it thrashes paging file.

with bf2 the most uber rig will fail without 2 gig of ram

I run at 1280 x 1024 with everything on high and wotever the highest AA setting in game is (6 i think) and it runs smooth...i clear my graphics cache and defrag my raptor regularly.

Can run maxed @ 1280 x 1024 with a bit of juddering on load. 2gb of ram should fix that though

I find the 1.3 update better and now I've got 2gig RAM.
I think the game is showing its age now with texture resolution and effects, I run 1280 4x aa maxed out & it still runs at 100fps all the time. There should be room for some HDR without too much of a performance hit; wish they would add it like what was done with Farcry. :cool:
