how do you force settings in bf2 ?

when i set my display options for bf2, and restart the game, it "optimises" for 10 mins before loading, but doesnt look any different and when i go back to settings all the high settings are turned off, resolution is back to 800x600, and AA is off

also how to take screenshots ? prt scr doesnt output into paint.exe when pasted....

Your screenshots that you take with prntscrn are located in mydocuments/battlefield2/screenshots.

I know it's a silly question, but after you've messed with the settings did you apply them and then totally quit the game to desktop? On mine when I've altered anything I get the box saying "changes will take place once BF2 is restarted". I quit the game, start it back up again and start a single player game. Then and only then do I get the optimisation happening.

yeah it optimises when loading a map

look in mydocs/bf2/mods/cache/jhb67hg78y

delete it all. change settings, restart game, load a game. leave settings alone
