This has been bugging me since i got the game and i've yet to come across any solutions apart from one, but im unsure if it applies to me. The problem is that radio comms and teamspeak stutter whenever i have hardware selected as the decoder. Software is fine, but sounds awful. I'm using onboard Realtek ALC850 and i have the most up to date drivers. Is there anything i can do? I read a thread about the OpenAL driver needing to be updated but this info was only on Creative soundcard problem threads, hence me being unsure. Buying a PCI card is out of the question as from what i've read, some people are having the same kinda of problems as me with using good cards such as the X-Fi

Thx in advance

I always thought on board audio was still h/w :D Just noticed that if i go into dxdiag and change the accleration down to basic the stuttering goes away

Modern onboard sound is still hardware, however it is generally pretty poor apart from a few such as Nvidia Soundstorm.

Personally I'd pickup an Audigy 4 7.1 for £37inc, they are very well supported in all games and are a much better option than dodgy Realtek onboard sound. In all likelihood the people having problems with Creative cards probably haven't got the right driver setup.

aye even my rather old audigy 1 handles sound fine, admitedly cant turn on all this extra stuff you get with games these days but it handles sound in 5.1 format fine, which is all i need really
