Iam trying to install bf2 on windows 7 rc although iam unable to do so. It installs fine up until when you test your mic, then when I click next it minimises to the task bar and won't maximise. It shows as running in the task manager and in the start bar bf2 is shown, although when I try to run bf2 I get the error code d3dx9_25.dll
Ive done a manual uninstall of bf2 and tired again which didn't help. Also Iam unable to apply the patches as they cannot locate bf2.
Any ideas?
Edit: I installed directX 9.0c manually that bf2 should install. Now bf2 starts up, although when i try to apply a patch the patch states that it cannot find the install folder for bf2.
Edit: Fixed the problem. Heres how to fix the above:
Windows 7 isnt pointing the patch in the correct location. So go to regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Electronic Arts>EA Games>Battlefield 2. Now in that directory create a new string called InstallDir and in data put C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2 , or where ever ur bf2 is installed.
