Are there any good servers for BF2 with more team/squad based play in mind...?

From what I've seen a lot of players seem to be going solely for points or promotions, rather than setting up squads and working together?
 
Sorry wilders hope you dont mind a quick thread hijack but i have a BF2 problem, and figured i could save on another BF2 thread.

Basically everytime i connect to a server i get disconnect after about 30secs. Only started playing the game recently, and never been on a server long enough to even kill someone yet :(

are there some sort of cvar settings or rates or something i'm getting disonnected for?

lol i probably wrote some of that FAQ :P anyways its looking like it may be related to VOIP. i'll look into it more when i get home.

Are u sure youve even been playing on 50K servers dude?

I banned well above 20 people yesterday afternoon for base raping. We have nearly 20 admins watching over 3 servers and there's usually at least one admin on almost 24 hours a day.

To me its just as decent as its always been, maybe u've just been unlucky.

As for spawn camping, yes, agreed its annoying but it is easily solved. Spawn at a different spawn point, if u only have one flag left, join a squad who is away from the action and spawn on the Squad leader. Everyone complains about Spawn campers and expects us to kick them. But the sad fact is that due to the ROE EA impose on ranked servers owners, you CANT kick sum1 for killing sum1 else on a spawn point (red circle yes, spawn point no)

If we kicked people for killing on a spawn point we could have our ranked server status revoked. And bearing in mind our members fork out over £2500 a year to have our servers we wont risk losing it because a select few cant deal with being killed when they spawn no and again.

Seriously mate, if u think our servers are bad for being spawn raped, maybe you should go play on an EA server for a couple of rounds and then you'll be reminded of how good some private (such as 50K) servers are in terms of how they are admined and the teamplay on such servers.

I see what you're saying about the EA UK servers. I didn't know that people couldn't be kicked for spawn camping, sorry.

I was on the 50K City Maps server the other day we had a few spawn points left and everyone of them was being spawn camped. I was in a squad so didn't want to leave it to join another.

Also I was on Sharqi Peninsula (SP?) and our base at the TV station was being raped by a Heli for ages. Then someone (A 50K member) called the people at the TV station (ME and a few others) ******* Claymore n00bs for using our claymores to protect us/our flag so I told him to **** off because that's what they're for then got kicked.

I would have posted on your forums about it but didn't think it was worth it.

The solution to the Helo raping is simple. 1 AT rocket will see him smoking and bugger off home for repairs, you can also spawn downstairs and make a run for the AA.

The problem with claymores is that people put them in places they KNOW will get kills, instead of using them in the way they were designed (to protect a sniper from attacks from behind) and far to many people just chuck them on flags, stairs etc where they know they can get an easy kill and thats what gets on people nerves.

We tried that, I spawned as Anti Tank a few times but we couldn't get out of the door or go near it without getting shot. If we spawned downstairs we'd just get killed by the heli, again. I also tried to spawn as a sniper with the LVL 1 unlcok to try snipe the pilot but I couldn't get anywhere near without getting shot.

I admit I put one on the stairs, that wasn't to get kills because that's not how I play, I play for the fun. I put a Claymore on the stairs to protect me while I was sniping from the top of the TV Station.

Also can 50K members be kicked from the server for swearing because I don't think it's fair that I got kicked for saying **** it's not even a bad word imo. I can't say it on here because I'll get suspended but if you really want to know Email/ MSN me. :)

They can and do get kicked for bad language. Tbh i think you were probably kicked because you told sum1 to '**** off' as opposed to what they said being a general complaint about claymore usage....even if they werent kicked they'd have got a verbal lashing from whoever the admin was.

I regularly kick people for using foul language...theres no need for it and people would do good to remember that not everyone who plays battlefield is a 20 something male...there are a lot of kids who play BF2 and they dont need to read foul language.
 
I probably was, yeah but it just annoyed me some-what as I/ a few other people were insulted by a 50K member who are supposed to be setting a good example for other players. It doesn't really matter now anyway it's happened and there's nothing I can do.

The 50K servers can be fun, especially before a proper game starts (Knife fights with Teabagging etc, that was fun! :P )

One thing I do like about the 50K servers is that pretty much everyone squads up and plays as a team, not just runs off on their own.

Sorry for pretty much ruining this thread anyhow. :o

Can't say I agree with that, not that I spend my entire BF2 time on 50K mind you..

I usually find that you get a decent, competitive game on 50K without being subjected to any bad behaviour by the idiots ;)

If I'm ever being spawn-camped or "base-raped" I deal with it, simple as... (it may just take some patience that's all)

Thanks for the heads up will check it out, started playing COD2 again last night incidently
 
I recommend the 50k City server, real hardcore players on there lately, good competition and good teamwork (if your in the right squad) .
