Got a spanking new rig yesterday based around:-

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz
Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Western Digital Raptor X 150GB
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3

but am having a nightmare with BF2142. I can't change the screen resolution to anything other than 800x600. Changing the video optiopns in-game doesn't appear to do anything even if I choose 1024x768, right up to 1600x1200. I've also tried amending the shortcut to force the game to use a widescreen format:-

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

but that does sweet f.a. too. Am using the Forceware 97.92 drivers for the GTX.

Anyone else using this card on XP SP2 able to play BF2142 ok? Tearing my hair out...

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\Settings\VideoDefault.con <<<< open with notepad or wordpad
renderer.setFullScreen 0
renderer.fieldOfView 1
renderer.globalLodRadius 1
renderer.globalLodRadiusScaleFactor 5
console.showStats 0
renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 <<<< change this to 1 if it's on 0

also
C:\Documents and Settings\geff\My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\Default\Video.con <<<<< open with n otepad or wordpad

VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 3
VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 3
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 2
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 0
VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 2
VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 3
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@85Hz <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing Off
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setUseBloom 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3

make sure to save after changing values.

Try changing resolution here.
Change the shortcut back to normal dont know where you saw to change command line at.

In that case i can only conclude that you are using vista?
are you sure you did what i said correctly?
should be fine try changing it to 1024-768
also it could be a refresh rate issue maybe try an app called reforce.
