BF2142 freezes when loading the maps

whilst in game online yesterday the game frooze and chucked me out (first time ever) so i loaded it up again and clicked to join another server. Whilst joining the game frooze again so i ctrl alt delete again, load it up, again same problem. I restarted the pc again same problem and now trying to play and it still doesn't load.

Is there anything i can do to fix this or is a reinstall called for? I dont want to have to reinstall as i got nothern strike and don't want to have to download that again aswell.

had the same problem last night...has been fine for last 6 months...and four times it froze and wiped out when I started a game. I was playing it for 5 minutes and the performance was terrible..then it froze. releaoded it...and it froze again just when i entered the game..and kept doing it. What new in the last day or two with this game????

I started having this last night too - I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one!!

Bit extreme... I have reinstalle Vista (needed to anyway!) and (obviously) the game... I'll let you know how I get on.

just played it for half an hour there...and it seems to be back to normal for me. Give it a go now and see if any beter.

Sounds like the EA servers were messed up last night, i had all sorts of problems. It crashed during game and since then my whole PC has been up the creek.

First time i've had problems like that.

yes this has been happening to me and my gril friends computer load up maps and just freezes and freezes when playing happened to me yestarday and today on a titan map.

My mate had the same problem the other night, ended up uninstalling BF totally, removing the folder in 'My Documents' too.

Re-installed now hes fine.

working all fine for me now. how weird of a problem for it to make the game freeze like that

I'm assuming the EA master server went down, in which case it would kill anything linking to it, which is everything as they all use the stat management system.

I have been getting this a lot too seems to have started since the last update, reinstalling it didn't fix it for me though however i am not sure if uninstalling removed the folder in my docs, might have to reinstall and double check thats gone before i reinstall it.

Don't mean to hijack but I'm getting "BF2142Pace has encountered an error and must close" or whatever blabla on Vista quite a lot, anyone else got this issue?

I had to do that last week, game was freezing loading maps or within the 1st minute of gameplay.

Since uninstalling and deleting all the associated folders, it's worked fine.

I had this also, really did my noodle in. A full uninstall followed be re-install did the job and the gamr runs better now. go figure :confused:

after multiple reinstalls and deleting bf2142 folder in mydocuments (sometimes profiles get corrupted or whatever) finally my bf2142 problems seem to be resolved... no more freezes or crashes thank satan!
