BF2142 Lag problems in offline mode

Just got this game and while playing one player mode it plays as if there is lag i.e. the cursor isn't accurate and the graphics are laggy

Ive tried it on the lowest setttings and highest settings and it makes no difference, and with ATI cats 6.10 and older drivers.

Rig:
Opteron @ 2.7Ghz
2GB Ram @ 200Mhz
X850XTPE @ 600/590
X-FI Soundcard

Any suggestions?

Disable your sound, try again.

I have this problem only with serious sam 2 and no other game, sound causes it for me.

Just a suggestion you can try.

Its happening in BF2 as well

might reformat at some point

Defrag your HD and lower your sound settings. Also check your available ram isn't being eaten up by other processes. I always reboot prior to a match too.

Defragged and have 2gb RAM already. Something is up because BF2 never used to do this
