BF2142 or Ghost Recon(GRAW)?

Hi

OK all I play is CSS ... and I fancy something new so as a complete noob which game would you all recommend splashing some cash on. BF2142 or Ghost Recon ? Thanks

GRAW (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - i'm assuming that's the one you mean?) is rubbish imo, not played BF2142 but if it's the same as BF2 then it's closer to CSS than GRAW.

Yes mate thats the game in question (GRAW) . Im not to bothered about it being same as CSS just wanted to know what people thought of it and which they would choose. I'll stick you down then as a BF2142 ;) Thanks
 
both great games and worth the purchase imo

only play GRAW single player so no comment on its mp content

2142 is also a great game with thousands of players and servers

get both
 
Try out the free BF2142 demo (although bear in mind the full version with patches has better graphics, the unlocks are a major part of the game and not all of the maps are so vehicle heavy).
Dunno if there's a GRAW demo.
 
Thanks for that mcwildcard .... I tried the BF2142 demo and it was strange at first ( BIG change in gameplay esp. since Id never even tried BF2!) though quite liked it and I thought the graphics in the demo version where outstanding. Only seen pics of GRAW but it looked good and having never played any of the Tom Clancy stuff wondered if it was actually as good as BF2142 or maybe better.

BTW Im running an AMD 4000+ @ 2.7ghz with 2gb ram and a X1900 gt 256 I take it this setup will run either game on reasonable settings ?

I have both.

I bought GRAW about 4 months ago. First, it ran very poor on my reasonable fast machine (P4 3.0Ghz, 2GB DDR2 400, 6800GT) and after fine-tuning the graphics a couple of times it became "playable" but not very smooth. I played it for a few times, never bothered again.

BF2142 plays well, it still has some glitches as it's only just released, but the game itself is instant action and fun.

I found GRAW not so enjoyable and more difficult to play. I now have a better machine, so i may give it another try and see how it runs.

Well GRAW doesn't have as such vast gameplay as 2142, but on the brighter side, GRAW doesn't have adware like 2142 does, it isn't made by a greedy who cares about the community company, it doesn't have 100's of bugs and exploits.
 
I think GRAW is great game can be hard but rewarding and the patches have made the game a lot better than out of the box, it can be a little demanding on your rig but with said patches and a few tweaks runs nice.
i have nearly finished it and loved every minute of the game, the snipper stuff is great i think you will love it.

not tryed bf2 or 2142 so sorry can not comment.

ps.come to think of it is bf2 or 2142 a good single player game ? would not mind a look if so.

Thanks everyone for the replies .... Im going to get BF2142 :) Just one final question I am aware of this SPYware issue with BF2142 but can any1 tell me how it actually works ie. Does it only run when game is played or does it run constantly when your online ? Thanks again.
 
i have both games.........but neither work on my current system!!!! proper gutted that i cant play them, always been a huge fan of GS especially snipering on the big maps was awsome, just hope sniping is the same on GRAW, and have not played any of the BF series due to system, so looking forward to tryin these in a couple of weeks once i get my upgrade!
 
Ive got GRAW found it a bit hard at first but im playing a bit online so hopfeully that will get me better for the single player, oh and if you want to have highest detail u need a 512mb gcard (unless u want start hacking stuff), BF2142 is good fun a little buggy at first but patches r starting to make it a bit better. oh and if your worried about seeing ad's all the time in BF2142 i found one in GRAW the other day :eek: :p

well no wonder my game wont play when im running a geforce mx 4200 128mb LOL, struggles to play COD for christs sake.
But had some advise in other forums on upgrades so getting it before xmas.
once i got it workin we can have a mess on multiplayer.
