BF2142 widescreen.

Thinking about picking up BF 2142 tommorow. I know it dosent seem to support widescreen natively, you have to edit a CMD line or something, now does this jus stretch it? or is it true widescreen? (for me being 1440x900), will it look decent?

Plus whats this about spyware? Anything to worry about.

one more thing, hows the community etc in the game? Im deciding out of this and BF2 and so far this looks better.

It'll be the same as BF2 I would imagine, just add +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 to the target of the shortcut. Obviously change it to your resolution.

Yup, the same as BF2142.

Ive use....

"C:\Games\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900"

Works a treat, although the HUD is slightly stretched.

what the syware does it track what you do on the net, then see what games you like and send you ads about it.

I have both games and have to honest BF2 gets all the playtime ... don't get me wrong BF 2142 is an excellent game its just I prefer the guns and general gameplay ie. maps , surroundings , vehicles etc etc . Like yourself I'm still kinda new to both (only on srg. rank in BF2) so what I would ask is ... what you prefer in games ?

Neither BF2 or BF2142 let you have proper widescreen, its just stretched iirc EA don't allow it because it gives an unfair advantage.

ok ive enabled the command line, doing 1440 x 900, but in options it still says 1024x768, is it still enabled though even though it says that?

yeah, what you end up with is a zoomed in image, so you lose a small bit of vertical.
