Hi All,

My bro has 2 x 5850 in Xfire and is having an issue with BF3.

Basically with Xfire enabled the game will lock up on boot but is fine when its not. I believe he has the latest drivers (11.12 if iirc).

As an Nvidia person im not very clued up with the best AMD drivers etc so any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I have quadfire 5970 and BF3 worked fine on those drivers in fact i have not had lockup on boot on any of them..

I've had xfire and BF3 for months and never had a problem.

Running 12.4 drivers now so all good here

I ran BF3 with 2x5850s no problem, I think the driver version was 11.12 at the time, I then adopted the "if it isnt broken dont fix it" mentality and left it on that version because it seemed ok.

Also make sure that the CAP (catalyst application profiles) are up to date

they help with crossfire performance and compatibility.

I think of all the games out there BF3 actually works pretty well with crossfire. It works perfectly for me using 12.4 and crossfire 7970's.

CF worked for me on BF3, iirc amd advised 69xx users to stay away from the 11.12 driver. Update to 12.4 and report back :)

Kribby - should be fine with two cards. Runs like butter on my system with the 12.4 driver with two cards enabled.

There are problems with BF3 but in most cases need more than two cards installed to see them.
