BF3 and origin issues

I downloaded bf3 today and it installed fine, no hiccups. Then the annoying part. Managed to play for 30 mins but had to leave the game. I logged out of Battlelog and origin successfully, but For some reason once the game has been running I cannot shut down my pc. I do not have this issue from simply logging in to origin or Battlelog. After shutting down my pc via the off button, I tried logging back in but when I clicked on bf3 to load it Battlelog does not load automatically. When I go to Battlelog to log in and try to load any of the game modes it says that I need to close a game running in the background. Have uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked, until I logged out, and I'm faced with the same issue again. Already tried deleting temporary files, and closing any activities related to bf3 in the task manager, and came to no avail, help please???

Reset button?

Well yeah I can use that but tbf windows is made with a shutdown icon for a reason.

I'm having the same problem. I thought it was Origin, but after so many resets and worrying about damaging my new i7...I uninstalled everything. I had been recovering using Acronis and last night tried again. I installed Origin and downloaded BFBC2 which I haven't played in nearly a year...BFBC2 played well and I left Origin running and shut down my PC and it did perfectly. I tried this a few times and no problems.

I have told Amazon.co.uk that I want to return BF3 ..but I am presently going to have one more attempt. I am downloading BF3 again and as I know Origin is not the problem I will see if closing my PC with BF3 stops my PC shutting down. If it does I will rest once more only..run the game a last time..exit but go to task manager and physically close BF3. I will then try shutting down again...if its successful I will hang on to the game as I am sure this will be patched and just remember to shut the game down prior to closing my PC for the while.

If the task manager doesn't work then EA can have it back.

I will post back in an hour after I've tested fingers crossed

OK I'm back. It is Origin after all. After re downloading and installing BF3 I'm having shutdown problems. After resetting I opened Origin again and went into a game and exited. Closed BF3 and then closed Origin..Origin closes and disappears however I open task Manager and low and behold the exe is still running. Right click to end process..end process Boing...a box pops up Unable to Terminate Process..The operation could not be completed..the operation is not valid for this process.

So that's the villain. Do you think they will be sorting this out any time soon, as I don't want to mess my new computer up keep having to reset all the time.
