im going to build a new pc for BF3 but i dont know if it will be good for the game this is what im going to get.

- CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz @ 4.60GHz Sandybridge CPU
- Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V (default choice)
- RAM: Kingston HyperX Grey 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
- Cooler: Corsair A50 CPU Cooler
- Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

this is a Overclocked Bundle. I have 500w psu and case and 250GB hhd and a Asus GTX 280.
was thinking for adding 4GB to make it 8GB. I know a little about pc's hope you can help:confused:

tanks soon i will be looking to go uni for game design would it be good to run that type of software? dont you think the GTX 280 will be up to it?

You dont need a 2600k for gaming, the 2500k is basically the same CPU but doesnt do hyperthreading (this will not effect gaming performance though).

Games dont need more than 4Gb of RAM either so you dont need to upgrade to 8Gb (this can be done in the future)

My main area of concern would be your graphics card, a Geforce 280 isnt really gonna be strong enough to run BF3 with the eye candy turned on.

Take the cash you save by dropping down to the 2500k and by only getting 4Gb of RAM you will have some left over to get a better GPU. You can always sell your GTX 280 for extra funds

An nvidia GTX 560 should serve you well (and costs roughly what you will save by dropping down to the 2500k and not buying 8gb of RAM)

Dont get too hung up on having a mega fast CPU or lots of RAM, you will more than likely run out of graphics card oomph running BF3 before you push your CPU to its limits

Also, never skimp on the PSU, this is the beating heart of any system...using a crappy low quality PSU is a complete no no.

What brand and model of PSU do you have?

The PSU was my friends dads sever PSU his dads good wive pc but i wont to do it by my self :D all i know atm is it 500w what would you say to go for??

What resolution are you gaming at??? i.e. what screen will you be using with your system??

As far as the components you specified above, yes they will run BF3 very very well...I'm not sure if a GTX 560 will run BF3 MAXED OUT, (no-one is quite sure what the requirements are just now), however the 560 will give you perfectly playable performance with high image quality settings @1080 resolution im sure

im looking at getting two 22" screen chep but good
