Hi all,

Anyone enabled this for BF3? I'm still running a GTX 580 @ 2560x1600 and I wouldn't mind some AA in there as well - I understand BF3 has some in-game FXAA support, is this right? Or have others used the colour injector that's external for it?

try it on low or medium - on the higher settings it basically acts like a blur filter, but at your resolution you shouldn't need too much AA to just tidy things up a little

2xmsaa with low fxaa would be even better but I'm guessing a single 580 would struggle with that, maybe try high instead of ultra on textures etc.

basically play with all the settings till you find a set that run well and that you prefer the look of

dropping HBAO to SSAO also frees up a chunk of performance with not a massive degradation in IQ

It's called Post Processing in BF3. Put it on High and see how you like the look of it. Some people say it's too blurry but I like it on alongside MSAA (deferred AA).

Ah - FXAA is "post processing" in BF3? Ha! I've been running no MSAA and High "post processing" - I agree it does give a bit of a blurry effect to the game which I guess I've just gotten used to, however sometimes I just don't see things that are a bit of a distance away (even when I've got my FOV set pretty narrow). A narrow FOV kinda defeats the purpose of the 30" monitor however, so I might play around with MSAA set to 2 and decreasing the FXAA right down to low - my card might struggle with it though... have already adjusted the textures to "high" instead of "ultra" - there really doesn't seem to be any tangible difference for me between them, however a slightly less blurry situation might be great in spotting others a bit further off (which will help the old K/D ratio!) :)

FXAA has negligible impact on performance. It's fairly cheap to run. It's MSAA which takes it out of your card :(. At your res I would say that jaggies would be minimal anyway.

I have HBAO off as well. I just don't like it in BF3.
